The better approach begins with operations.

- Identify unnecessary handoffs.
- Identify work that follows predictable rules.
- Identify where employees spend time gathering or transferring information rather than applying judgment.
Then determine whether AI, conventional automation, software integration, process redesign – or some combination – provides the best solution.
